Greetings from Roseau! Hearings today and tomorrow!

Greetings from Roseau, MN, on the Not-so-Great Northern Transmission Line road show!  It’s the public hearings on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, and there’s another hearing today in Baudette at 6 p.m., and then tomorrow in Littlefork at 11 a.m. and International Falls at 6 p.m.

Be grateful you’re not staying in Big Bog State Park. OH. MY. DOG. It’s a very cool campground — down side is it’s like a parking lot, but if you’re into fishing, the sites along the water have docks! BUT… and that’s a BIG BOG BUT… It’s not just horribly hot. The bugs are beyond belief. I’ve never been so glad to have to take off for a hearing. Covered head to toe in mosquito bites, and THE FLIES! AAACK. They’re stuck in the screens and I don’t think a vacuum can handle it. This is one campground I do not recommend for camping. It’s a fishing camp. All of the others here have HUGE rigs, big RVs or monster trailers, with their boat, so no need to be outside, no bugs and hanging out with air conditioning. Here we are in site 12e, with a dock and no boat.
